Readers theatre
What I am learning : I am learning to build my confidence to read in front of people.
How am I going towards achieving this learning: By involving my self in the main play.
What do I need to do to be a strong performer in reading theatre: I need to focus and not move round.

Writing Goal
My goal in writing is to get to 4P or 5B.
I have chosen this because so I can be at the standard or above the standard.
To achieve this goal next time I will need to work on punctuation.

Maori World Timeline
What am I learning about: I have been learning how the earth was created in the maori world.
How this work shows my learning: This shows my learning because I have made a timeline of how the earth was created.
thinglink time line about the barracks Quail Island
Im the Leper story
In 1906 I, WIll Vallane admitted to Christchurch hospital that i was diagnosed with a disease called Leprosy, it was a disease that would affect your skin and nerves of the cooler region of the body- particularly the nose, throat, voice-box, fingers, and toes. It had even affected my eyesight and so it had been failing so sight was more of a blur to me.I was so contagious even people from a range of 2 meters from me could become infected. They immediately isolated me and moved me to quail island so I could no longer harm or affect anyone else.
I had been put in a large hospital and had difficulty trying to get comfortable in such a large open space just for myself. In 1907 the department of health constructed me a hut so I could be able to live the rest of my years being at least in a comfortable surrounding. Let's not forget, leprosy is incurable so until the government had something better to do with me i would stay isolated on this island.
The doctor would visit me once a month and relatives would visit me occasionally or every now and then. I had a caretaker on the island, Mr. Thomas. He would come to my house to feed me since i was not capable of doing it myself due to my eyesight. Although he was not allowed near me he would put my food down in a spot and back away so I could walk myself over to go get it, i wasn't able to do much but he would turn music on the gramophone for me. It would keep me settled during the day. He would as well hand me books to well, read, more like look at, i would ask for illustrated books because i love seeing the blurs of color on the page.
I got weaker by the day, and i knew myself i was slowly dying, and i was going to die alone. I had a gate around my cabin so no one could come in too close to me, and i couldn’t get out. I wish i could be able to walk around the island for the rest of my days and enjoy the water and sunny view. I wish i could’ve done a lot more than knowing that my life will end with nothing exciting to celebrate my life.
Mother Nature Crisis
Nature is our guardian.
Nature affects us and we affect nature.
Nature affects us and we affect nature.
We all need water, we all need flowers, its the same with ice, rain forests, and soil.
Nature doesn't need us, we need nature, the oceans have covered the earth once, they Can cover it again. Ice is what kept our earth cool, but once our planet is overheated, there's nothing we can do. Trees make us breathe, but once all the trees are gone, we are not smart enough to make our own oxygen. Flowers look innocent, so we pick them off, but without them, we don't have food, do we? The soil is treated like nothing, once our soil is gone, it will stop many sources on our earth.
If we don't take care of nature, nature wont take care of us.
If we don't take care of nature, nature wont take care of us.
What is kaitiakitanga/sustainability/Rahui Tapu
Kaitiakitanga- Guardianship and protection of the Island so possums and rabbits stop killing the plants on Quail Island. All the pests that are not on Quail Island should never be there because they just eat away the plants
Sustainability-For fishing you need a licence so if you catch to big or to many you could lose your licence
Rahui tapu- if someone died on a beach they do rahui tapu to let the spirit leave the beach it a traditional place when the person has died.

In an advertisement, you want to require one of the followings
Ethos is an appeal to ethics, and it is a means of convincing someone of the character or credibility of the persuader.

This advert shows ethos because it's showing a famous artist that accordingly makes us think this drink is good. The way that makes us think this is because if you're famous and known around the globe your most likely rich right? So then when they're rich they have a huge variety of drinks they can buy but because they have a photo of them with this particular drink (diet coke) it makes audiences think that it must be a good drink.

Pathos is an appeal to emotion and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by creating an emotional response.

This clearly explains pathos. This ad shows an emotional image that makes us people think that we are the reason there's cruelty to animals and it makes everyone's soft spot for animals come out. When an animal is in pain it lets out a daring squeak and when people see these types of ads it immediately makes people picture it in person and really emotionalises people.

Logos is an appeal to logic and is a way of persuading an audience by a reason.

This is a great clear image of logos. This advert has explained reasons why this object is good for buyers. They changed a toy and made it sound like a handy tool for people with stress, autism. It looks addicting and cheap but nowadays because they're so popular they've made them real expensive and that's why there are so many reasons on this particular - to try bribe people to spend their money.

We will be acting as engineers this week we will be making a bridge and it will have to be able to hold a certain amount of weight. We will be placing the bridge across a sink and everyone will be having the exact same weight.
We will be using:
One meter of tape
Six sheets of news paper roled up
For our bridge we rolled the sheets of news paper into thin sticks. once we had done that we tested them and we put the weights over top. We ended up with it reach 4 KG!! for the weights. At fifty our bridge bent into the sink. We wanted it to be able to hold fifty so we added tape to the middle where it bent and then used the rest of our tape for the edges to keep them in place.
After looking at everyone else's bridges we realised that we aren't the only ones using that technique, so we would just have to wait and see to find out whose is better.
In the end our bridge held 7 KG!!! and we also one the competition.
I think that our bridge was so strong because of the way we constructed it. We rolled the paper so that it was really thin and there was more layers to one roll. Which made it harder to bend.

Sexologist
Sexology is the scientific study of human sexuality, including human sexual interests, behaviors and functions. The term sexology does not generally refer to the non-scientific study of sexuality, such as political science or social criticism.
A sexologist is someone who practises sexology, and the field of sexology plays host to a variety of different clinical and educational specialists. Sexology is an evolving science and so there isn't a universally agreed description of what it means, but the World Association for Sexology has a working definition of sexology as a generic term encompassing the study of all aspects of sex and sexuality.

Everyone’s heard that guys think about sex every seven seconds. But where did this come from? And is it even true? As a Sexologist, you can answer these questions because you spend your days researching and investigating different aspects of sexuality. You think about what “normal” sexual behavior is, how culture influences sex, and how sexual dysfunction comes about.

High Impact Kete Project
What did we do ?
The first race was how far could the cars go. Everyone had 5 minutes to touch up their cars for the races.
The second race was the car that could go closest or stop at the end of the green line. Then again everyone could have 5 minutes touch up their cars.
The third race was which could go furthest and then again everybody had a fair race because we all go to make our car into whatever shape we wanted and we all started at the race line and tried to get the car to go furthest.
The Effects Of My Modification:
In the picture it shows that I have put clay at the back of the car to make it go faster. The clay put's weight on the back to make it go faster as well.
This car was made like this because it had to stop at the green line. We put more weight on it this time so it could go slower putting more friction on it.
This car was made for the car which could go the longest distance. We didn't put anything on because we thought it might go faster.
THE RESULTS:
How did your car do in each race compared to others:
I think we done good just above average on our car.
What cars won the race:
Car no. 2 and 3 did a good job.
Why did they win:
Because they had enough friction and acceleration in their cars.

REFLECTION :
What were we learning about?
We were learning about High Impact and what forces interact with moving objects.
How does this show my understanding of learning:
It shows my learning because I have learnt a lot of words and I have used them in my previous blogs about High Impact.
What do I still need more work on:
I need to work on understanding more about acceleration, friction, thrust and gravity and more words about this kete.

The Physics Of Car Racing
The Physics Of Car Racing:
1. What has been done to make this a 'fair test'?
- All the cars are the exact same
- they have all the same wheels
2. What forces are needed to make the car go faster
and now have you modified your car accordingly?
We need to add some weight to the car like clay and more clay.
3. What forces are needed to make the car stop and
what adjustments have you made to try & stop it by the line?
Add something such as a parachute to create drag (attempts slowing the car down) and Friction (stops the car).
4. What forces are needed to make the car travel further
and what adjustments have you made to achieve this?
A balanced force; if something is NOT moving it will continue to not move; if something IS moving it will continue to move at the same speed and in the same direction.
5.
Technology Food Tech
I have made sushi at food tech today and it had cucumber and chicken in it.
The way i made it was buy getting the ingredients and rice and the sushi wrap the i put it all together and cut it up and put it on a plate and made it like a professional cooker.

Physics of car racing
1.What problems does our car already have?
Putting our car on the side would flip over because of the tape not set.
Putting the car on two of the sides made it go off the track.
-What is causing the problem?
The sides make it go somewhere Elsa.
-How do you plan to correct it?
Using whats around me like people showing there ideas.
2.How do you think you will make your car go faster?By adding a larger tail fin to add down force Make little wings for air resistance
3.How do you think you will slow your car down?
3.How do you think you will slow your car down?
I think by slowing it down with a rubber band wouldn't go far but goes slow.
4.What equipment will we need?
- Car
- Clay
- Ballon
What will i work on next time? next time im going to put it all together and try to make it go the furthest and try make it stop at the line.
What did i research? I researched about how to make cars to go fast and how mush weight and what is the best thing at school to use.
